Dr Antonella Mazzoleni
Clinical Psychologist- Trauma Therapist
English-Italian
A little about me:
I am an Italian, licensed Clinical Psychologist registered in the UK (HCPC: PYL040777) and Italy (OPL 15446).
After completing my training in Italy in 2010, I moved to London in 2014 and I have lived here for the past ten years, meeting people from all different backgrounds. This life experience has deepened my interest in other cultures, and ways of being and seeing the world.
Professionally, I have extensive work experience both in the NHS and private sector.
In my career, I have met individuals, couples and families struggling with serious mental health difficulties, facing the challenges and emotional distress of the illness, whilst at the same time, coping with under-resourced mental health services.
In my daily practice, I support people who feel stuck in their life journey, they might deal with an illness, a breakup in a relationship, low self-esteem, low mood and anxiety, or challenges related to their identity and social relationship.
I have developed a particular interest, and gained further training, in complex trauma, and the connection between adverse life experiences, especially in early years, and the serious mental health difficulties in adult life, such as psychosis, bipolar disorder and personality disorder. More recently, I have explored the connection between trauma and physical health condition, including chronic pain.
