Dr Antonella Mazzoleni
Clinical Psychologist- Trauma Therapist
English-Italian
Welcome
You are,
A little about me:
I am an Italian, licensed Clinical Psychologist registered in the UK (HCPC: PYL040777) and Italy (OPL 15446).
After completing my training in Italy in 2010, I moved to London in 2014 and I have lived here for the past ten years, meeting people from all different backgrounds. This life experience has deepened my interest in other cultures, and ways of being and seeing the world.
Professionally, I have extensive work experience both in the NHS and private sector.
In my career, I have met individuals, couples and families struggling with serious mental health difficulties, facing the challenges and emotional distress of the illness, whilst at the same time, coping with under-resourced mental health services.
In my daily practice, I support people who feel stuck in their life journey, they might deal with an illness, a breakup in a relationship, low self-esteem, low mood and anxiety, or challenges related to their identity and social relationship.
I have developed a particular interest, and gained further training, in complex trauma, and the connection between adverse life experiences, especially in early years, and the serious mental health difficulties in adult life, such as psychosis, bipolar disorder and personality disorder. More recently, I have explored the connection between trauma and physical health condition, including chronic pain.
Anything that impacts your well-being, is worth discussing!

TESTIMONIALS
"Know all the theories, and master all the techniques,
but as you touch a human soul,
be just another human soul"
Carl G. Jung
"I am very happy to be sharing my good experience as a client with Dr. Antonella Mazzoleni. After some bad therapeutic experiences, I was so relieved to be paired with a compassionate and sensitive human being who is a good and natural communicator in addition to her professional skills and training. As a psychologist myself, I appreciated being able to talk frankly and share my anxieties without being in any way blocked or negatively judged. I would not hesitate to recommend Antonella to explore whether her skills and developing expertise are a good match for your current or past problems".

"When I first was introduced to Antonella I was sceptical because over many years as a child, teenager and adolescent I've had different therapies and I've had good and bad experiences.
My last experience was bad so when I was first contacted by Antonella I was avoiding her calls and her help based off of previous experiences.
Which I highly regret doing because I was unwilling to give her a chance however I finally managed to give her the opportunity to change my perspective.
I've been working with Antonella for over a year and she's help me more then all the years of therapy I've under gone .
She's a lovely kind , no judgement human being who really cares and wants to help.
I've gone through a lot of trauma and a lot of unpleasant experience throughout my life and I'm thankful because I'm a very strong resilient person however at a price and I'm currently working with Antonella to learn to trust and to feel more safe in certain situations as well as helping me stay focused on a healthy balanced relationship with life and sleep as well as other issues .
The trauma I experienced had a dramatic effect on my life as a child , teenager and still to this day however with the help of Antonella and medication by my doctor I'm able to manage and function better in ever day life .
Which before Antonella I was just on autopilot not really coping or looking after myself physically, mentally and emotionally. So I just wanna say if you are sceptical I understand I was before I gave her the chance and it's a big step finding a safe person to talk to however I'm glad I did.
I want to say thank you for the impact you've had since we've met you will and have left a mark on me which I'll never forget and that I'm truly thankful for as I get to work with a lovely , caring human being".

" I started treatment with Antonella seven months ago to improve my anxiety, in particular my health anxiety and post traumatic stress. Antonella has supported and guided me in my recovery and slowly but surely I have made significant gains in my levels of anxiety and how I react to stressful and triggering situations/ environments. I think what has helped me in my work with Antonella is her level of care and attentiveness. She supports me in working through and accepting my different anxiety issues with in session exercises, reflection and providing me with little experiments to do in the week to expose myself to triggering scenarios. She always helps me to take a step back and look at things from a different, more positive perspective. I still have more progress to make but I am definitely heading in the right direction".

"I have found Dr Mazzoleni to be a great source of council and support. She has a friendly yet direct approach which has really helped focus my thinking. Our sessions are always productive and she genuinely cares about my well being and development. I always feel comfortable, relaxed and able to open up. I'm so glad I took the step to seek support and Dr Mazzoleni has been a big part of helping me feel better about processing my past and navigating the future".
