Clinical Psychologist- Complex Trauma Therapist
Welcome to my website, and thanks for reading!
I am Antonella, an Italian psychologist who has lived both in Italy and London.
I was born in 1982 in a small, catholic village in the Italian Alps. Moving to a metropolis like London was a cultural shock, but also an opportunity to learn and widen my horizon.
In the therapy room, I bring:
-
the simplicity of my roots,
-
compassion for human suffering
-
curiosity and openness for the stories emerging from our encounter.
I privilege a dialogical approach based on mutual respect in a safe and non judgemental space.
Therapy can be a scary and anxiety provoking experience, especially in the beginning, but I also know that having someone who genuinely care and wants to help, makes a huge difference when facing adversities.
A Bit About Me
Welcome to my practice! Since completing my Clinical Psychology training in Italy in 2010, have dedicated myself to supporting individuals, couples, and families facing mental health challenges. My focus includes psychosis, complex trauma, disorders, and mood disorders such as severe depression and bipolar disorder. I understand that receiving a mental health diagnosis can be daunting, I am here to help you navigate unique experience with compassion and expertise. In 2023, I launched my practice to provide personalized support tailored to your needs, free from the constraints of traditional NHS settings.
In the last few years, I have developed a particular interest, and therefore gained further training, in treating complex trauma.
I have also explored the connection between adverse life experiences, especially in early years, and the development of serious mental health difficulties in adult life, such as psychosis, bipolar disorder and personality disorder.
In my daily practice, I meet people who seek psychological support for various reasons:
-
they experience symptoms that are frightening and out of control and need someone to help them make sense of it.
-
they feel stuck in their life journey, dealing with a breakup in a relationship or burnout in the workplace.
-
They are dealing with a traumatic life event or with the consequences of long lasting condition.
Asking for help can be hard, you might feel ashamed for feeling the way you feel and guilty for what you are experiencing, and this can prolong your suffering preventing you to have a different life.
Remember:
Anything that impacts yourwell-being, is worth discussing!
